Stability analysis of a multi-phase (six-phase) induction machine

چکیده
The stability study of a multi-phase (six-phase) induction machine has been performed by applying the eigenvalues stability criterion to the small displacement equations obtained by linearization about an operating point. The eigenvalues provide a simple means of predicting the behavior of an induction machine at any balanced operating condition. The eigenvalues are dependent upon the parameters of the machine and it is difficult to relate analytically a change in an eigenvalue with a change in a specific machine parameter. It is possible, however, to identify an association between eigenvalues and machine variables. Therefore, in this paper, the stability of the machine under small perturbation of machine variables has been examined from the placement of the eigenvalues. The effect of common mutual leakage reactance, which depends upon the winding pitch and the displacement angle between the two three-phase stator winding sets, and the effect of harmonics have been included in this study. 2003 Elsevier Ltd. Investigating Direct Torque Control of Six-Phase Induction Machines Under Open Phase Fault Conditions
This paper presents analysis and evaluation of classical direct torque control(DTC), for controlling a symmetrical six phase induction motor (SPIM) under open phasefault conditions. The machine has two three-phase windings spatially shifted by 60 electricaldegrees. The strategy of the proposed method consists of choosing the switching modesaccording to the configuration of living phases in such...
متن کاملSpace Vector Pulse Width Modulation with Reduced Common Mode Voltage and Current Losses for Six-Phase Induction Motor Drive with Three-Level Inverter
Common-mode voltage (CMV) generated by the inverter causes motor bearing failures in multiphase drives. On the other hand, presence of undesired z-component currents in six-phase induction machine (SPIM) leads to extra current losses and have to be considered in pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques. In this paper, it is shown that the presence of z-component currents and CMV in six phase driv...

A new type of single-phase stand-alone induction generator using a three-phase induction machine and a single-phase voltage-source PWM inverter is introduced. The generator scheme is capable of producing constant load frequency with a very well regulated output voltage. A small lead acid battery and a single-phase full diode-bridge rectifier are used to feed the inverter. The inverter feeds one...
